World Map Small Rectangular Tray

The image on this 7.5" x 3.5" serving tray comes from Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica Ac Hydrographica Tabula (1630) which was co-authored by H. Hondius and J. Jansson. The map appeared in atlases from 1630 to 1666 making it one of the most long-lived of world maps. The portraits of G. Mercator and J. Hondius (father of the co-author) in association with those of Caesar and Ptolemy reflect the intense national pride during this phase of Dutch cartography. Mottahedeh is synonymous with the highest quality porcelain design and manufacturing. They have masterfully fitted the Hondius/Jannson map motif onto this elegant serving tray.
